First held in 2018, Battle in the Arena is the most selective all star tumbling competition of it’s kind. To be selected for this prestigious event, athletes must submit a video and are selected from over one hundred applicants.
This event is an incredible showcase of the highest level of tumbling in all star. Battle in the Arena is a show unlike any other and celebrates the individual accomplishments of top level athletes across the country.
This season, Battle in the Arena is going Virtual to allow athletes from across the country to participate. More information will be updated as it is available.

The top athletes in each division will receive medals, the chance to be featured in an exclusive shoe campaign, and participate in a focus group to name the newest Varsity Footwear!
Battle in the Arena: Unleashed is going Virtual this season to allow athletes across the country to participate from the safety of their own facilities. More information will be available soon.
What is Battle in the Arena?
Varsity Footwear is proud to present Battle in the Arena, the most selective All Star tumbling competition of its kind, to be held in conjunction with NCA All-Star Nationals. Catch the top tumblers in the country facing off and watch on Varsity TV!
What divisions will be offered at Battle in the Arena?
What tumbling passes are allowed? The athlete will perform his/her best running tumbling pass – minimal two tricks to a double full. If incorporating a bounce back, please limit pass to no more than one bounce back. All tumbling passes must follow the current Level 6 USASF tumbling guidelines.
How do I enter? 2021 Battle in the Arena entries are CLOSED for this season.
Individuals must submit an entry video via Twitter or Instagram tagging @VarsityAllStar using the hashtag #BattleInTheArena. Please include your name and Battle division in your video or caption. *Please note videos posted on accounts set to private may not be viewable.

Will this event be live or virtual? At Varsity Spirit, the health and safety of our athletes, coaches, employees, families and friends is our top priority. We are diligently monitoring the Coronavirus/COVID-19 and closely watching official information from health authorities, such as the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), as it relates to our larger community and our events, camps and competitions.
Battle in the Arena: Unleashed is going virtual this year to allow athletes from across the country to participate from the safety of their own facilities. Please keep in mind that any decisions made for Battle in the Arena are separate from and will not affect NCA All-Star Nationals.
What can I win? Finalists in each division will receive exclusive Varsity All Star Fashion apparel and a custom pair of Varsity shoes to be worn during the tumbling competition. The top athletes in each division will receive a medal, custom trophy provided by Swarovski and the chance to contribute to the development of the next generation of Varsity Footwear!
