Since 2021, an alumni leader of the team has served as a volunteer Coach guiding the team alongside student leaders towards their most impressive success at Nationals this past year. Job Description:

  • The University of Toledo, an NCAA Division I institution and member of the Mid-American Conference (MAC) seeks an individual for the part-time position of Cheerleading Head Coach. This position is responsible for the organization, direction, and administration of all aspects of the cheerleading program in accordance with the University, MAC, NCAA, and USA Cheer (United States Governing Body for cheerleading).
  • The position will plan and organize all phases of the cheerleading program. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to, building, recruiting, and maintaining a competitive cheerleading program consistent with the University and Department of Athletics policies, practice planning, supporting football at home and away games, including conference championship and bowl game, the men’s and women’s basketball at home games and the conference & NCAA tournament, select other home sporting events, appearing at certain University and/or Department of Athletics events, social media, fundraising, overseeing the program’s budget and equipment purchases and community outreach. Additionally, the cheerleading coordinator will collaborate with members of the other Toledo spirit squads (mascot, dance team and pep band) to engage students, alumni, fans, etc. at events for the Department of Athletics.

Required Qualifications:

  • Qualified candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree and two or more years of coaching experience. Must also be able to recruit, instruct and motivate college-aged student-athletes. Candidates must be well-organized with excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills. Strong knowledge of, and willingness to comply with all NCAA, MAC, University, and USA Cheer rules and regulations is required. Highly motivated candidates with previous coaching and/or cheering experience are greatly preferred. Job Description:

  • The Graduate Assistant Dance Team Coach supports the Director of Owl Spirit in the leadership and organization for all aspects of the William Woods Dance program. This is to include monitoring the academic and athletic development of the student athletes; while observing, evaluating, and recruiting student athletes. The assistant coach is responsible for following the University’s coaching guidelines, expectations including the rules and regulations of the NAIA (National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics) and the AMC (American Midwest Conference).

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, acceptance in to William Woods graduate program required.
  • Must have demonstrated ability in: leading an athletic team; fundraising and revenue development; budget development.
  • Preferred knowledge of and commitment to NAIA rules; preferred knowledge of Champions of Character program and commitment to its principles and goals.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to speak publicly without difficulty.
