At Varsity Spirit, the health and safety of our athletes, coaches, employees, families and friends is our top priority. We are diligently monitoring the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and closely watching official information from health authorities such as the Centers for Disease Control (“CDC”) and World Health Organization (“WHO”) as it relates to our larger community and our events, camps and competitions. We are also taking proactive, preventative measures for all of our employees. General adoption of best practices as advised by the CDC is the best way to prevent the spread of any illness.
We understand that this is a fluid situation, and we have a dedicated response team working around the clock to make sure that we keep our participants and attendees updated as the situation evolves. We will continue to keep you updated, and any changes to upcoming events will be based on the direction of public health organizations like the CDC and the WHO, state and local health authorities, and event partners, among others. All event updates are being made in the myVarsity camp and competition listings.

Updated 6.25.20: With the health and safety of our athletes, coaches, instructors, employees, family and friends at the forefront, and with guidance from health and safety experts to limit mass gatherings, we have made the difficult decision to cancel all remaining Varsity Spirit Overnight Camps. Although this decision is one of the toughest in our 45-year history, we want to assure you that we are prepared to deliver the same world-class instruction you have come to expect from Varsity Spirit at home, both in-person and virtually. Each of the Varsity Spirit camp brands have incredible Home Camp options so your athletes can learn, bond and grow in a safe and responsible environment. At all of our Home Camps, Varsity Spirit will continue to follow the guidance presented by the Centers for Disease Control (“CDC”) as well as, local and state authorities and experts. Please contact your State Director to discuss home camp options, our flexible payment terms, refunds, fundraising opportunities or anything else you need support with during these times.
Updated 5.11.20: With the health and safety of our athletes, coaches, family, friends and employees at the forefront, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 Summit Championship events. Please know that we gave it our best efforts, but COVID-19 has had a tremendous impact on our world, and it has affected our cheer and dance community in ways we could not have imagined. Additional information, including refund information, can be found here.
Updated 4.27.20: We are pleased to announce that we are planning to host a one-of-a-kind Summit event on June 19-22, 2020 at the Walt Disney World Resort. There are still some hurdles that we must cross, including the re-opening of the park, but we are working closely with our contacts who are hopeful and optimistic about these dates. We know many of you won’t be able to join us, but for those of you who can make the journey, we promise to make this event a completely unique and unforgettable experience!
With this in mind, we invite all cheer and dance teams, of any level and style, to compete, including U.S. teams that qualified for the 2020 World Championships. This event will be held at ESPN Wide World of Sports, and additional safety measures as recommended by the Center for Disease Control, the World Health Organization, the guidance of the Walt Disney World Resort, and local, state and federal authorities, will be put into place. Additional information on the 2020 Summit Championships can be found here.
Updated 4.24.20: All #AllStarStrong events scheduled through June 30, 2020 have been cancelled. Teams may transfer funds for these events to end-of-season event options, the 2020-2021 season, or request a refund. We are going to do our very best to meet our standard company refund policy of approximately 4-6 weeks; however, due to the 100+ events that have been cancelled or postponed, as well as social distancing and our employees working from home, it could extend to 6-8 weeks. We ask that you please bear with us as we work through these requests.
An update regarding The Summit Championships was sent out to Gym Owners and Coaches. Out of respect for programs and their ability to communicate with their teams, this page will be updated with more information early next week.
Updated 4.7.20: All Varsity All Star events scheduled through May 31, 2020 have been cancelled. We are currently planning to host the previously rescheduled events in June. Dates can be found here. Regarding The Summit, The Dance Summit, and The D2 Summit:
Updated 4.6.20: On April 1, Varsity Spirit began processing refund requests. We are doing our very best to meet our standard company refund policy of approximately 4-6 weeks; however, due to the 100+ events that have been cancelled or postponed, as well as social distancing and our employees working from home, it could extend to 6-8 weeks. We ask that you please bear with us as we work through these requests.
Updated 3.17.20: A Message From Varsity Spirit President Bill Seely
Updated 3.16.20: Based on the President’s Coronavirus Guidelines for America, Varsity Spirit will not be holding events with more than 10 people for the next 15 days (through the end of March).
Updated 3.15.20: As you may have seen, the CDC announced their recommendation to cancel or postpone events with 50 or more people for the next eight weeks. With that recommendation, Varsity Spirit has made the decision to not proceed as planned with scheduled events for at least the next eight weeks. We are actively exploring all options, including rescheduling events, extending the event season, and hosting virtual events.
We are hopeful this situation will improve, and we sincerely appreciate your patience and understanding as we navigate this unprecedented situation. We will continue to update you with more information as soon as it’s available.
