Ian Mckenzie – Dance Master Choreographer

Originally from Alabama, Ian moved to Boston at the age of fourteen. Although not dancing professionally until his early 20’s, Ian always had a passion for music and movement. Ian joined a dance troupe called Phunk Phenomenon from America’s Best Dance Crew (ABDC) in 2021. Dedicated to learning the art, he quickly advanced from dancer to lead choreographer. During that time, he choreographed for the Boston Celtics and also work closely with recording artists such as Jordan Knight. Later becoming the assistant director of the company, Ian played an instrumental role in starting “Lil’ Phunk“ – the official kids dance troupe of the Boston Celtics.

Ian has been dancing on tour with Lady Gaga since 2008 and performs in many of her music videos. Ian can also be seen on stage with various artists and in numerous TV shows and commercials such as Beyonce, Christina Milian, Alicia Keys, Janelle Monáe, Super Bowl 51, Gilmore Girls, & Hunger Games.

Ian will be teaching  for the Master Class at the following events:
