Three cheers for the new red, white, and blue championship rings! The U.S. National Coed and All Girl teams both earned the gold this past April at the 2017 ICU Championships. The teams are enjoying their victories and proudly wearing their brand-new championship rings!

This year’s rings were designed by the coaching staff. This year, the staff designed a vertical USA logo in a blue outline! All Girl veteran Kaitlyn Sexton said that this year’s design is her favorite yet!

The 2017 ring is by far the most meaningful for so many reasons. The design is so beautiful and this ring was the hardest to earn out of all the years I’ve competed for USA. We had to hit a great routine to get our country back into the top spot and I’m so grateful that I was there to be part of it!

Fifth-year coed team member Tucker Hunter said that each year that each title has had a unique feel to it, and this year felt like the culmination of many years of hard work paying off. He was very proud of this year’s win.

I probably contributed more in this routine than I had in years past and felt like I had a strong leadership role on the team. I like to help motivate others and make sure we were on the right track to be successful.

The veteran team members on the U.S. national teams know that they hold a little bit more responsibility because they have been through the experience before. Unlike their competitors, the U.S. national teams train in just three short weeks! You can watch the full journey of the 2017 U.S. Coed national team in the three-part Varsity TV documentary, Going For Gold: U.S. Coed!
