Southern Athletics from Pearl, Mississippi brought three teams to the 2020 NCA All-Star National Championship and two of those teams are headed into Day 2 in the top spot! This is the first time either of these teams have been placed in first coming out of Day 1, and they're holding nothing back today.

Gym owner, Will Emmons is super proud of his program and the hard work they have put in to get here this weekend!

"It is an incredible feeling!" Said Emmons. "We have worked so hard to be here. It has taken a lot of work, sacrifices, and heart to get to where we are now. We are so thankful for our wonderful parents and support from our fans! We couldn't do this without them!"

Southern Athletics Punch scored a 96.6833 in the Level 3 Small Junior D2 B division, one of the largest divisions at the competition! But Crush All Stars Freedom Elite is right on their heels with a 96.6333. Punch received 0.25 in deductions and although they still hold the top spot, there's still one more performance before the champion is crowned! The Punches take the mat at 1:44 PM CST in B Hall, so don't miss the action!

Although the Punches knocked out the competition yesterday, Punches coach, Storm Chaffin still says there's work to be done.

"Yesterday's routine had some tumbling issues that are normally not a problem," said Chaffin. "We believe if we hit our best full out today the work will be worth it. Besides, diamonds are created under pressure. We're here today to finish the fight!"

We are focused on a fun, detailed routine today. Energy is KEY! We're chasing drivers and as a result, we will earn what we've worked so hard for. An entertainment mindset is what we are in!  -Storm Chaffin

Southern Athletics PRIDE5 dominated the Level 5 Small Senior Coed D2 division after coming off the floor and receiving a score of a 96.6667 with zero deductions! The team brought the energy and had the crowd going crazy. Only one performance stands in the way of their NCA title and black leather jacket. Can they do it? Watch them perform on Day 2 in A Hall at 7:17 PM CST!
