School Spirit Provides a Sense of Belonging

It’s often said that school spirit is the heart of a school. You may also think of school pride in this way to. School pride helps foster a sense of belonging among students and staff who are part of a school. This sense of camaraderie has a powerful influence in school culture and academic performance—hence why school spirit is essential in so many ways!

Students and staff who actively participate in pep rallies, game day traditions, believe in their school motto, and proudly wear their school colors, all exemplify school spirit. By doing so, this gives the participant a sense of ownership and creates the feeling of being a part of something bigger than themselves. Representing your school with pride can be an exciting feeling. Positive school spirit results in a sense of wellbeing, both for individuals and the school community.

We encourage each one of you to be an active member in your school and embody school spirit. Be proud of where you come from and excited to represent your school in the best way possible. During the school year, utilize your spirit programs to spread positive spirits throughout the school and community. Including everyone in this process is crucial and so impactful.

Remember, we are all in this TOGETHER. Together as one unit, we can be inclusive, proud, and spirited!
