The University of Alabama coed team has been hard at work as they prepare for UCA and UDA College Camp held on their home turf. They have already set a foundation for their 2019-2020 season, and we can’t wait to see what’s in store for them!

This year the team is made up of 23 athletes, 13 guys and 10 girls. With 11 of the 23 athletes being new to the program, they are focusing on team building, good technique and gameday traditions.

The University of Alabama coed team is led by their head coach Christa Sanford. Christa attended Morehead State University where she was an athlete and also the former all-girl coach. Following her years at MSU, she continued to coach at Shelton State Community College for twelve years. Christa is now on her third year coaching the Crimson Tide along with her sixth year of coaching the U.S. National Coed Team.

“I want to continue to be what Bama is.” Said Sanford. “I want our program to be at the top while also supporting our athletics to the highest level. I want us to be an example and set the tone wherever we are!”

The coed team finished the 2018-2019 season with a third place medal at the 2019 UCA & UDA College Cheerleading and Dance Team National Championship in the D1A division. With goals for success, the team is ready to take on the new year by getting a strong start at camp this week.

“As one unit, we want to be positive, confident, and grow throughout the year. We want to be the best of the best.” – Alabama Coed
