Penn State Coed: Ready To Take The Mat With Determination!

The Penn State Coed Cheerleading team is working hard to show the world that they’ve taken their skills to a higher level this year! They’re ready to compete next weekend at the 2017 UCA & UDA College National Championship.

The Lions are ready to execute new pyramids that will set them apart in the Small Coed DI division. They’ve focused on creating exciting visuals with elite skills in hopes of maxing out on this portion of the score sheet. Although these skills have taken the team a lot of time to perfect due to the quick transitions, they’re proud of the final product they’ll be putting on the mat on Jan. 14-15 LIVE on Varsity TV!

Assistant coach, Eugene Bodden, told us what we can expect from their performance this year.

This team will be performing with determination. These athletes are ready to prove that they are a talented team, and they are very excited to put on a great performance. It’s a young team with great work ethic, so I am very excited to see them grow and bring out their full potential.

The PSU cheerleaders are working hard training for nationals, but haven’t stopped showing the world what it means to be leaders at their university. The team took a break from focusing on nationals to go cheer on the Nittany Lions football team in California at the Rose Bowl. Now that they’re back in State College, and practices are in full swing.

Captain, Tynan O’neil, told us what the team is hoping to accomplish next weekend.

Our number one goal is to come together as a team and perform as a family. If we can walk off the mat next week knowing in our hearts and minds that we left it all out on the floor FOR each other, I’d say we’ve met our goal.
