Peak Athletics From Highland, CO, Seeks To Earn Coveted Worlds Bid

Grapevine, Texas, is getting ready to welcome thousands of dancers from around the country at the 2018 NDA All Star National Championship!

One program in particular took a year off from the competition, but they’re back and ready to take their first shot of the season at a bid to the 2018 Dance Worlds. Peak Athletics from Highlands Ranch, Colorado, isn’t stopping now!

“NDA has such a rich history of being a well-respected dance event,” said Nicole Landrum, gym owner and coach. “It brings some of the very best judges in the dance industry which makes it an honor to compete on the stage in front of them!”

“This competition is extremely important because it is our first attempt at earning that coveted worlds bid!”

The program will be taking four teams to the 2018 NDA All Star National Championship that will be competing in Senior Pom, Senior Hip Hop, Junior Pom, and Junior Hip Hop.

“The majority of the dancers on our senior teams have danced together since a very young age,” Landrum said. “They are extremely bonded and spend a lot of time together outside of practice, which definitely shows on stage.”

The Peak Athletics Senior Pom team has a "snake" theme this season, and they can’t wait to show off their entertaining choreography with their fun costumes and music.

For the Sabers, the most challenging part for their Senior Pom routine is synchronizing their long turn section. And for Senior Hip Hop, the timing of their tricks has given them something to work for.

“Ninety percent of the dancers on our Senior teams also compete in their high school dance teams,” Landrum said. “Juggling schedules with games and practices has been challenging, but the girls have worked hard, stayed organized, and hopefully it will show on stage!”

The Peak Athletics Coaching Team

  • Nicole Landrum: Owner/All Star Dance Director
  • Steven Thorton: Dance Recreational Director/Pom Choreographer
  • Vittorio Luciano: Hip Hop Choreographer
  • Vanessa Graziano: Hip Hop Choreographer
  • Ingrid Caruso: Technical Coach

“They’re definitely a dream team of coaches!”

The teams are getting in their last minute touch-ups before heading to Grapevine and they won’t stop climbing until they have reached the peak! Will they receive the coveted worlds bid they have been working so hard for?
