New Mexico State Cleaned Up At The 2017 USA Collegiate Championships

The Aggies from New Mexico State University rocked the stage at the 2017 USA Collegiate Championships and when it came to the Final Awards, they cleaned house. 

"It definitely just feels like all the hard work, tears and sweat that was put into this was so worth it," explained NMSU Cheerleader & Partner Stunt Champion Lyla Islas. "I've never won anything in cheer before and to win two national championships in one night is incredible, I can't even put it into words." 

NMSU took home a whopping THREE national championship titles in Anaheim, CA including Large Coed 4 Year College Cheer, Mascot and Partner Stunt. To add to the impressive list of accomplishments, their second Partner Stunt duo took home second place!

"It feels great. We put in a lot of work for this, countless hours especially after practice for partner stunt," explained NMSU Cheerleader & Partner Stunt Champion Frank Molina.

"There were times we wanted to give up but we kept going and that's what made everything totally worth it tonight."

The Aggies absolutely dominated the Partner Stunt & Mascot Divisions in Anaheim. Pistol Pete's Mascot championship win was the cherry on top to a perfect championship weekend.
