She is a dancer that speaks encouraging words to her teammates, but also leads by example with her strong work ethic during practices and performances. Not only do her technical achievements make her shine while on stage, she loves being able to put on her uniform and represent Loyola to her community. Being able to perform during the 2018 NCAA Final Four, Allie was incredibly grateful for the opportunity to share with the nation a glimpse into what makes Loyola so special. Allie’s dedication to the advancement of the Loyola University Chicago Dance Team will have a lasting impact for years to come.

Katie Cox

Accomplishments: Katie has competed at Nationals for 3 years, 2017 3rd place DI Hip Hop and 7th place DI Team Performance, 2018 4th place DI Hip Hop and 8th place DI Team Performance, 2019 4th place DI Hip Hop and 5th place DI Team Performance, 2019 NDA Staff, Senior Captain 2020-2021.

Future Plans: Katie will be attending Sacred Heart University for grad school and going for her Master of Science in Digital Advertising. Katie would like to create her own fashion brand in the future.

A Note From Coach: Katie has been a natural leader since her freshmen year. She is a strong dancer across all styles and knows exactly when the girls need a pep talk or some tough love. This being my first year as head coach, after being the assistant coach for 4 years, Katie helped make it an easy transition for the team and continued to raise the bar for expectations of all dancers. She is always willing to put in the extra work to accomplish personal and team goals. Katie was a captain this season and found a perfect balance between leading focused yet fun practices for the team. She made this team a priority and was instrumental in getting the team more recognized by the university this year. It breaks my heart that she will not be able to compete this year because she truly shines on stage. I know that she will be successful in whatever she does in the future because she is so determined and driven.

Michelle Munos
Sacred Heart University
4 Year Member

Accomplishments: Michelle competed at Nationals for 3 years in DI Hip Hop, 2017 3rd place DI Hip Hop, 2018 4th place DI Hip Hop, 2019 4th place DI Hip Hop, Senior Captain 2020-2021.

Future Plans: Michelle will be getting her Master’s in Speech Language Pathology. Her goal is to help people live their lives to the fullest and best of their abilities. She feels being a SLP is more than just helping someone be able to talk. It ranges from helping one learn how to communicate, whether it be speaking or understanding social cues, to making sure one can chew and swallow safely.

A Note From Coach: Michelle has the biggest heart and would do anything for her team. She is one of the strongest hip hop dancers this program has ever seen. When she is performing, it is hard to take your eye off of her because she captivates the crowd and gives 150% every time. Michelle is the most encouraging teammate and leader. She pushed every dancer to their fullest potential and would go above and beyond to get them there. While she did not compete in the team performance category, she was their biggest supporter, #1 fan and could be found screaming, “Let’s go girls!” from the front of the stage. You could truly not ask for a more caring captain. She is the definition of a team player and has lead this team with such a huge heart. I am heart broken that she will not be able to ‘slap the bandshell’ after an amazing finals performance, as she has the past 3 years. I cannot wait to see the impact she has on people’s lives in the future as a SLP, leading with her heart, just as she did for her teammates.

A Note From Coach: Jordyn has been a leader on this team since the day she made the team as a freshman. I can remember being at camp her first year and staffers asking me if she was a senior–she just has that type of maturity that a coach looks for in a leader of their team. Jordyn has worked so hard to be the absolute best she can be in our community, in the classroom and as a leader on our team. She has danced at the NCAA Final 4, won multiple NDA National Championships, and has had a career that most college dancers dream of, however her biggest impact on our team has been away from the spotlight in practice or on the field where she is a constant leader and source of motivation for our team.

A Note From Coach: Maddie’s journey on Tech Pom has been incredible. Maddie has an incredible back story in that she didn’t make the team in her original audition, but was extended the offer of being on our team in the summer of 2016, and less than a week later she was in our rehearsals and headed to NDA Camp, having learned ALL of our game-day and camp material even though it wasn’t required of her. Maddie hit the ground running and never looked back. Her growth as a person and dancer on this team has been incredible, her communication skills are second to none, and the leadership she has provided to our team has been so valuable. Maddie has excelled as a student, university ambassador, and teammate over the course of her time in our program. Her legacy will live on and I am so proud to have coached her.

Having been given a prognosis of a career ending injury her junior year, she persevered and was able to finish her final year and half with a smile on her face and a fire in her heart. She is a great leader on the field and court and has represented our program across the country.
