5 Fun NCA Summer Camp Roommate Ideas

Heading to an overnight camp with NCA this summer? Chances are you’ll probably have a roommate or two, and some of the best memories are made in the evenings after camp with your roomies! Here are 5 ideas to become BFFs with your camp roommate this summer.

  1. Pajama Twins: Before leaving for camp, take a team trip to the store to pick out some matching PJ’s with your roommate! This is an opportunity to bond as a team and to see who picks out the most ridiculous pajama set – onsies are definitely encouraged! On the first night of camp, wear your matching outfit with your roommate and the team will vote on which duo did it best. Be sure to snap a pic of the whole team standing next to their pajama twin!
  2. Pillow Party: A fun activity to do with your roommate is to design matching pillowcases together. Make it personalized by writing your name on the fabric and allowing enough space so that teammates can write encouraging notes on your pillow throughout camp. Not only will this give you and your roommate something to do together, you will also be able to take home the pillowcase as a memory of your time at camp!
  3. Spirit Stick Shrine: Do you want to earn a spirit stick this summer at NCA Summer Camp? The NCA Spirit Stick is given to teams who shine positivity, character and class throughout camp, and receiving one at the end of the night is an incredible honor. When you get to camp, set up an area in your room to put the spirit stick! This can be a pillow in your school colors, a stuffed animal that resembles your mascot or even a pile of poms that the spirit stick rests on. Rotate the spirit stick throughout everyone’s room so that each roomie pair gets a chance to display it proudly!
  4. Positive Praises: Everyone needs a little positivity during camp. Each day, write an encouraging sticky note to your roommate to lift their spirits for that day. You could put it on their mirror, backpack, or even on their nightstand so they see it as soon as their alarm goes off in the morning. Wish them luck on All-American tryouts, tell them how great they were learning the Advanced Dance, or encourage them to earn the spirit stick that day. Starting each day with an encouraging word and positive mindset is just what you need during camp!
  5. Spa Night: Camp is a ton of fun, but it is also hard work! Your muscles will be tired from hitting all those new stunts, so what better activity to do with your roommate than a spa night. Bring facemasks, massage rollers and heat pads to relax and rejuvenate your muscles. Not only will you bond with your roommate trying to keep cucumbers over your eyes, you will also feel rested and ready for another great day at camp!

We can’t wait to see how you will become #StrongerTogether with your roommate and team at NCA Summer Camp. Be sure to share this article with your camp roomie to decide which activities you want to do this summer!
