Limelight Allstars From Canada Prepares To Take Over USA All Star

Velocity from Limelight Cheerleading Allstars is headed across the border from Canada to take on the 2018 USA All Star Championships this weekend!

Limelight is one of three programs traveling from Canada to compete at USA this weekend. The program first competed at USA All Star in 2014, and after taking a short break the talented program is back and more ready than ever to take the stage in Anaheim, California. 

Velocity is Limelight’s Small Senior 3 team coached by Andrew Francis and Jerry Mauldin. The squad is comprised of 14 of the gym’s most dedicated athletes. 

“Velocity is combined team of kids from different teams,” explained Jerry Mauldin, owner and director of Limelight Allstars. “They are some of the hardest-working kids in our gym and we wanted to give them an opportunity like no other.”

One factor that makes Velocity unique is that they’ve only trained once a week since September! Training so infrequently has been a challenge for the team, but Mauldin said when they do get the chance to practice, they work hard. This strong work ethic makes coaching Velocity even more fun.

“The coaches love working with this team because every single kid on the team believes in hard work and dedication, plus they have great attitudes," he said. "This team is amazing!”

One must-watch moment in Velocity’s routine is their dance. Mauldin said the choreography is fun and the athletes love performing it.
