Jersey Pride Heads To Their Favorite Event Of The Season

Jersey Pride has attended Reach The Beach every year since the program began in 2006. In their first year, Jersey Pride’s Senior 4 team won the $5,000 cash prize, and every year since they’ve stayed on top with at least one team taking home the coveted title and surfboard trophy.

One reason for Jersey Pride’s Reach The Beach success is the incredible and dedicated coaching staff that works with every team. Every Jersey Pride staff member has been a part of the program as either an athlete or coach for a decade.

“The commitment to each individual athlete’s development, as well as the growth of the program as a whole, is paramount to our focus as a staff,” said Lauren Atkinson, Jersey Pride's coach.

This weekend Jersey Pride will be represented by nine different teams taking the mat in Ocean City, Maryland. The program is always a fan-favorite as they consistently deliver top-notch routines at every performance.

“We pride ourselves on visual, well-structured, clean routines that our crowd-pleasing and exciting to watch,” coach Atkinson said.

One Jersey Pride team you don’t want to miss? Jersey Pride's Senior Small 5 team, Liberty. The team has a Wonder Woman-themed routine this year and one of their senior athletes reveals a lasso to finish the routine.

Liberty’s favorite section of their routine to perform is their dance. The team used their choreography to highlight the graduating seniors and the movement helps portray a story of strength and perseverance.

Along with Liberty, the entire Jersey Pride program looks forward to attending Reach The Beach every season. Earlier in the season when an athlete from Jersey Pride Rebelles was asked which event in the future she was most looking forward to attending, she cheerfully replied, “Reach the Beach!”

"Reach the Beach has been a staple of our schedule year after year."

Want to follow Jersey Pride as they finish out their 2017-18 season? Liberty will be attending the Cheerleading Worlds later this month and Belles, Rebelles, 1st Ladies, Brave, Freedom, Allegiance, Independence, and Glory will be attending the U.S. Finals in May.
