Insider Info: 2025 The American Masterpiece San Jose Nationals

The American Championships calendar for the 2024-2025 season kicked off in early December with the first of more than a dozen events, and January alone will feature six competitions. 

Among them, is the 2025 edition of The American Masterpiece San Jose Nationals, which is making another visit to the San Jose McEnery Convention Center in San Jose, California.

Varsity TV will be there to provide live coverage of the event on Jan. 25-26.

American Championship Events center around the quality of the production and venue transformation (extensive warm-up areas, double-wide tumbling strips), along with the spectator experience and judging system, and Olympic-style awards. The events have been built based on suggestions from coaches, too.

What To Know About The San Jose McEnery Convention Center

The American Masterpiece San Jose Nationals heads back to the San Jose McEnery Convention Center in San Jose, California, in 2025.

The venue is less than four miles from the airport and offers a versatile space for any type of event or gathering, including comic book conventions, sporting events, auto shows, trade shows, meetings, and more. 

Conveniently, the convention center is networked with nearby buildings and facilities to offer flexibility to event organizers. 

The main exhibit hall on the upper level features 143,000 square feet of space, with the ability to expand to 165,000 square feet. In all, there are 520,000 square feet of meeting and event space. 

On-site parking is convenient, too, while there are two hotels connected to the convention center and five more within walking distance.

The League by Varsity All Star

The League by Varsity All Star is the official ranking system for the sport of All Star cheerleading, changing the conversation from “Who won the weekend?” to “Who ranks at the top this season?”

Every team that competes at a Varsity All Star event this season will be included in The Varsity Cheer League.

Team rankings are determined by the points system displayed here. At each Varsity All Star event your team competes, your team will earn points based on the assigned event and placement point value.

At the end of the season, your six best Varsity All Star event scores will be used to calculate your final rank.

In total, 128 winners will be recognized from first to third place across each region. 

One champion will be crowned in each of the five regions across the eight eligible divisions and two League 6 conferences, meaning 42 championships will be awarded in total. Champions will win cash and prizes!
