In Formation March Update

Let’s start with some incredible news: our all star community proved just how #AllStarStrong we are when we came together to support the life saving mission of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at Friday Night Live at CHEERSPORT Nationals. With your help, we raised more than $105,000! Six. Figures. We’ve never done that before, and we are so inspired and amazed. This season alone Varsity Spirit has raised $1.4 million for St. Jude. Let’s keep the momentum going! Anyone who would like to join us in the fight against childhood cancer, CLICK HERE to Team Up for St. Jude!

Our team is having a blast putting together the content for the 2019 Varsity University conferences. As always, VU will give coaches and gym owners the opportunity to collaborate with industry leaders and outside professionals to grow their businesses and promote the all-star community. New this summer, you can expect some exciting extracurricular activities to not only get you moving, but to get you laughing too! You won’t want to miss it, REGISTER NOW at the early bird rate!

As we reported last month, Stay Smart, Varsity All Star’s Housing Services initiative is well underway. Our housing partner companies are preparing to launch improvements in their booking and compliance platforms for next season, complete with a fast and easy way to ensure teams are getting the lowest rates, guaranteed. We are also excited to announce that all Varsity All Star events will be assigned a Stay Smart Tier in the 19-20 season. The Stay Smart Tiers will help you quickly identify the housing requirements for every event. Here’s the breakdown.

  1. Stay Smart Tier 1: Housing is required. Worlds Bid events and a few citywide events fall into this tier. This makes up less than 10% of all Varsity All Star events.
  2. Stay Smart Tier 2: Housing is required, perks are earned. Perks will be specific to the event, and will include things like comp room nights, team rooms, and rebates. A few select 2-day events fall into this tier.
  3. Stay Smart Tier 3: Housing will be offered, but not required. Last month we mentioned that 75% of our events would not have a housing requirement, but after further analysis we are thrilled to share that it’s more like 85% of Varsity All Star events that will not require housing in the 19-20 season. Several events that required housing in the past will not be requiring it in the future.

Our VAS event producers are working to add the Stay Smart tiers to all our events so that soon you’ll be able to see the Stay Smart tier in your MyVarsity portal. Rest easy with Stay Smart!

Finally, we wanted to share that the Varsity All Star Fashion team recently added Mark Heard to the production leadership group as a new Vice President in Manufacturing. Mark has more than 25 years of experience in apparel manufacturing, product and textile development and sourcing. His fresh perspective and ingenuity will help us continue elevating the entire fashion manufacturing and delivery experience for our all star customers.

That’s it for this month’s INformation. We hope you’re enjoying the updates. Stay tuned next month for some exciting news about The Summit and D2 Summit!
