Tell us a little bit about yourself!

I am Sofia Toccalino, I live in Maryland and I am 15 years old!

Give us a fun fact or story about you.

I am fluent in Spanish and my whole family is from Argentina.

What does being an Epic Athlete mean to you?

It means so much to me because I met so many amazing people from this and feel like I have improved because I was pushed to be the best I could be.

How do you embody the essence of an Epic Athlete in day-to-day life?

I always push myself to the best of my abilities and even though I want to give up I keep pushing.

Tell us about your journey of how you got to where you are now.

Sofia: I started rec cheer when I was 5 years old and fell in love with it so I went to my first gym that was called All Star Fusion. Later on, I went to East Coast Nitros where I got my full and double. I went to Twisters when I was 11 years old and got all the current skills I have now there. I made Reign when I was 12 and stayed on there for 2 years. Then last year I went to F5 and here I am now on Fame Super Seniors. If it wasn’t for my coaches and my family I would not be where I am today.

What is the most impactful lesson you’ve learned in your cheer career?

Never take anything for granted or there will always be someone better than you but you should never give up!

#1 cheer memory so far?

Placing silver at worlds in 2016 with Maryland Twisters Reign!

What is your next move? Where do you go from here?

My next move is to train hard and get new skills this season with my team. From here I want to keep getting better and the goal is to win Worlds. After this year I am not sure what I want to do but I do want to keep training and cheer in college.
