Epic Athlete | Karolyne Day

Hi, my name is Karolyne Day. I am 17 years old and a senior in high school.  I have been cheering for 13 years and I am currently on Woodlands Elite Generals. For me, being an EPIC Athlete gives me the opportunity to share my passion for the sport with many other athletes.  In my day to day life, I embody the essence of being an EPIC Athlete by coaching younger athletes at Woodlands Elite, striving to be the best role model I can be and by never giving up.  My journey to where I am today started on a show team at age four. I continued to push myself every day and began my path on Level 5 at age eight.  I have now been at Woodlands Elite for the past nine years and it has been a place where I have grown into the athlete I am now. Every year has had its highs and lows, but I have learned to take the lessons I have learned to push me to the next level. The most impactful lesson I have learned throughout my cheer career has definitely been TO TAKE EVERYTHING ONE STEP AT A TIME.  This has been so helpful not only in my cheer routines but in my everyday life.  This saying really helps me focus on staying in the moment and not worrying about the past or the future. There have been so many outstanding memories throughout my cheer career.  However, my all-time favorite memory so far has been winning Worlds in 2015.  Not only was it my number one memory just because we won but because throughout that year this team had so many ups and downs that we had to push through to get that top spot in the end. My next move is definitely to go to college. I just do not know if I am fully ready to give up on All Star cheer forever.
