Epic Athlete | Chris Sloboda

Hello my name is Christopher Sloboda and I am seventeen years old! This is currently my fourth season on East Celebrity Elite C5 Bomb Squad. I moved from Pennsylvania to Massachusetts in 2014 because of my dad’s job! I have been competing in All Star cheer for four years but was previously taking tumbling classes since I was twelve. For me, being an Epic Athlete means having a full understanding and passion for this beautiful sport. In day-to-day life, I embody the Epic Athlete mentality by always providing help to athletes and training like a champion. It was definitely not easy getting to where I am right now but I got here with the help of my peers, coaches, and family. Yet no one else is the hardest critic but yourself. I always find myself critiquing every little thing about my tumbling and stunting. I am constantly recording my skills so I can go back and watch them for mistakes. The most impactful lesson I have learned throughout my cheer career would be that giving up is not an option. My number one cheer memory so far would have to be hitting the routine of a lifetime in finals at Worlds 2018. My team walked off the mat with teary eyes and the most euphoric feeling ever. Now onto present day, where am I off to next? My next move would have to be focusing on working harder and harder every day until I walk off that Worlds mat on day two. At the moment, our next competition is NCA Nationals in Dallas, Texas and you better believe we will not be giving up that easily. No matter what this season will be the best yet because it is my last season cheering, so as everyone says “Last one, best one”!
