It’s another exciting season for Eastern Kentucky University as they bring their spirit program back to the 2018 UCA & UDA College Cheerleading and Dance Team National Championship.

Last year, EKU took 4th in the All Girl Division l and 6th in Division l Coed.

The squads put an extensive amount of time & effort into their practices to be fully prepared for this upcoming competition.

But the many practices aren't the only thing this team makes a yearly tradition. EKU also holds a competition within their program between their all girl and coed team to see who can hit the first full out routine of the season. A friendly competition resulting in the winning team gives the other team’s assistant coach a hair and wardrobe makeover; a light-hearted, fun way to start their journey to competition.

This season, All Girl won the battle with the first successful full out!

EKU All Girl used the entire floor during the cheer while incorporating signs and poms to ensure full crowd engagement. With so much excitement, no wonder the cheer is their favorite part of their routine to perform!

As Semi-Finals and some Final rounds kick off today, tune in to watch one of Kentucky’s favorite athletic teams as they take the floor in Division l Coed Semi-Finals at 4:47 PM ET in the HP Field House.
