Davenport University Heads To Finals On Top In New Division

California Baptist University has a winning tradition at the NCA & NDA Collegiate Cheer and Dance Championship in Daytona, Florida. But this year, the reigning five-time national champions will face their toughest competition yet.

New to the division, Davenport University came ready to leave their mark this season, and they're no stranger to championship gold. The Michigan team is the five-time NCA National Champions in Division III, and their experience showed in Thursday's performance. The Panthers climbed the ranks and are heading into finals on top.

But don't count out the Lancers just yet. They bring a high-energy, high-difficulty routine to the mat and they are poised to make a comeback.

The prelim rankings determine the performance order for finals, but teams start with a fresh slate and score for Day 2—it's still anyone's game.
