Cheerleaders weren’t the only performers spotted in Myrtle Beach this weekend; over 75 dance teams also made an appearance at The Groove dance competition on March 25th-26th. We spoke with the Top Gun Senior and Open Hip Hop coach, Matt Tsanadis, who told us what their goal was at the event.

We’re just here to inspire someone…and if we do that we’ve won.

From Lyrical to Hip Hop, the routines were diverse in style and choreography which made for a really exciting show for spectators. The event offered Summit and Worlds bids, so many of the teams had their hopes on impressing the judges.

Dancers lined the halls of the complex while teams took to the practice room for one last warm up. Across the floor you could see soft classic costumes contrasted by dark studded hip hop gear. The competition was a 2 Day event that wrapped up around 4PM with a final awards ceremony on Sunday, March 26th.

Looks like we will be seeing many of these teams at The Dance Summit in May. Congratulations to Top Gun, and all of the other competitors and bid winners.
