Champion Cheer Brings Texas Flair To The West Coast

It’s Day 1 of the 2020 Spirit Sports: Duel In Desert and some of the top all star teams from around the nation are taking the stage in Palm Springs, California to put their routines to the test.

While the exciting event is filled with teams from the west coast, some other strong programs have made the journey to the event in the hopes of finding some tough competition for their teams.

Champion Cheer brought three all star elite teams from their Justin location and they are looking to share their Texas flair with the competition.

“We hope to show “Texas cheer” that capitalizes on exciting and fast-paced routines with a clean and easy-to-watch appeal,” shared Ryan Chance, Gym Director of the Champion Cheer Justin location.

Chance added that the Champion Cheer teams have added several upgrades to their routines while preparing their athletes to be ready for national-caliber competition.

“Practices have had their moments,” shared Chance. “However, our kids have continued to shine and rise to the challenge!”

Each team from Champion Cheer has incorporated a fun theme to their routines. Sizzlers, Youth Small Level 1, has a "Broadway/Musical" theme in their music. Spice, Junior Small Level 2, is going strong with their "Girl Power" music choices. Last but certainly not least, 3rd Degree is taking it old school in the Junior Small Level 3 division with "80's Hits" to complete their routine.

“We pride ourselves in rising to any challenge and love competing against the best of the best.  We are gracious in our successes and we learn from our losses with the goal of growing from each experience.  We also love to use this as an opportunity to share our gym message to "Be The Light".  We hope that, through Character, Commitment, and Attitude, we can be a positive light for our friends in our industry and communities. All of our athletes and families are excited about this new adventure and getting to see what the West Coast has to offer!”

Champion Cheer is hoping to put forth the best routines they can this weekend and possibly take home a bid to The Summit 2020.

If 3rd Degree were to take home a bid this weekend, all the teams from Champion Cheer would be heading to The Summit in May!

“It would be a dream come true to walk away with Champion Cheer Justin's 1st ever Paid Bid or multiple Paid Bids!”
