5 Things You Can Do at Home to Make a Difference

It is easy to just go through the motions while stuck at home. Keep yourself busy while making a difference in yourself, your family and your community. Use this time to reflect, create and inspire each other to do better. Here are five tips to make a difference and stay home!

Show Gratitude: With your family, recite three things you are thankful for.

During this time, it is easy to focus on what we DON’T have versus what we DO have. At dinner each night, or whenever you are with your family at home, go around and have each person say three things that they are thankful for. Even though our reality may look a little different these days, it is important to remember all the good in our lives.

Share Spirit: Write a letter to a grandparent or elderly neighbor.

The world needs spirit more than ever! Reach out to a family member that you haven’t talked to in a while. Spread your positive light and let them know that you are thinking of them. Write them a letter or give them a call. This is a great to time to rebuild connections and catch up with family from far away!

Send Love: Send an online card to patients at St. Jude.

Make someone’s day! Send an online card to a patient at St. Jude to let them know you are thinking of them during this tough time. The patients are St. Jude want to hear for YOU!

Set Goals: Create a Vision Board

This is a great time to self-reflect and reevaluate this year’s goals. Create a vision board of your favorite things: what your dream job looks like, where you want to travel, or a recipe you want to try next. Find pictures in old magazines or online and create your dream life! Once completed hang your board up somewhere that you will see it every day. Visualize your goals to remind yourself what you are aiming for!

Serve Others: Pick up trash on your daily walk around your neighborhood.

Spring has sprung! Many people are using this time to enjoy nature. Walk around your neighborhood (staying 6 ft away from others) and take in the fresh air. Bring a trash bag with you and pick up any trash that may have been left on the ground. Keep your neighborhood clean and safe!
