SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION

Scholarships Offered: Yes

Cheer Scholarship Details: All cheer athletes receive a scholarship based on skill, experience, potential and position. They range from $10,000-$23,000 per year. 

Dance Scholarship Details: All dance athletes receive a scholarship based on skill, experience, potential and position. They range from $10,000-$23,000 per year. 

Mascot Scholarship Details: Mascots receive $8,000-$15,000 per year. 

TRYOUT INFORMATION

CHEER:

Clinic & Tryout Dates: Email head coach Shayla Siebenthall at shayla.siebenthall@ottawa.edu for clinic dates. There is usually 2-3 per semester. There is no set tryout date. Athletes are recruited throughout the year and offered multiple opportunities to tryout at the recruitment clinics each year.

Tryout Requirements:

  • Tumbling – Minimum requirements are a standing back handspring and running back handspring. Tucks are preferred. 
  • Stunting – Elite group stunting skills and intermediate coed stunting skills. 

DANCE:

Email head coach Shayla Siebenthall at shayla.siebenthall@ottawa.edu for clinic dates. There is no set audition date. Athletes are recruited throughout the year and offered multiple audition dates throughout the year.

Tryout Requirements:

  • Must show technique in turns, jumps, and leaps as well as showmanship and skills in jazz, pom, and hip hop. 

Competition Involvement: Coed and All Girl cheer squads and Dance Team compete at the NCA & NDA College Cheerleading and Dance Team National Championship in Daytona, FL.
