Iowa Hawkeyes Create The Most Spirited Game Day Tradition Yet

The University of Iowa Hawkeyes have a new game day tradition that has the entire stadium on their feet cheering loud for a great cause.

Regardless of which team you are rooting for on game day at Kinnick Stadium, at the end of the first quarter all 70,000 fans in attendance rise and turn to wave at the newly constructed University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital that overlooks the field.

The children’s hospital opened their new building in early 2017, and the spirited Hawkeye fans and athletes were quick to notice the little faces peering through the windows toward the field on game day.

The Iowa spirit program cheers on the football team from sideline, always aware of the little eyes watching them from above.

Way to go Iowa for creating such a great new game day tradition, thanks for showing the world why #SpiritMatters!
