Final Four: College Couture

Final Four: College Couture

We were in awe of innovative choreography, draw-dropping pyramids and gravity-defying stunts from the 2018 UCA and UDA College National Championship.  But even above all of the incredible talent, what caught our eye the most was the impeccable #VarsityStyle.  Here are our top four uniform trends from some of the best college programs in the nation.

Shine Bright in White:  Oklahoma University

There is something so classic about an all-white uniform and no one proved that better than OU All Girl who took the Championship in D1A.  A custom logo adorned their shell with a solid contrasting bodyliner.  Their uniform, along with their routine, was sharp and sleek under the competition lights, a clean look commanding everyone’s attention, including the judges.

Don’t You Look Strapping:  The Ohio State University

OSU Pom mesmerized the crowd with a custom costume from Varsity Spirit Fashion.  The college logo and lower arm panels were detailed in Misty Gunmetal fabric, a fresh take on the usual grey.  The dancers stole the spotlight with the scoop back cut out with rhinestone straps creating a beautiful geometric design.  This unexpected style helped this team take the top spot as the D1A Pom National Champs.

Make a Skirt and Shoe Statement:  Moorehead University

The reigning champions floored the crowd (and the judging panel) with their unique skills and specialized logo placements.  We loved the placement of their custom logo over the lower right front of their skirt and on the exo mesh upper of their Varsity Ascend shoes.  This unique lettering position afforded them yet another branding opportunity for their team and university and left us pining for more after their two and a half came to an end.

Get Hype with Stripes:  University of Kentucky

Once again, UK, impressed us all with unbelievable talent, precision and style.  In traditional Kentucky fashion, the squad’s style featured side striping that ran the length of the uniform.  The #12 side braid added a visual element to their skills as they hit different body positions in their pyramids and baskets.  The Wildcats took first place in D1A Co-Ed.
