#VarsityRome Travel & Day 1

Goodbye USA, Hello Roma! 

As 2019 comes to a close, Varsity Spirit All-Americans from across the United States took the journey over to one of the most historic and beautiful cities in the world. On December 26th, we gathered at gateway cities to meet up with a Varsity Spirit Staff member. We then boarded a wide bodied jet, cozied up in our airplane seats, fell asleep and woke up as we touched down in Rome. The adventure has just begun!

Upon arrival at the hotel, we all attended a short orientation meeting. Then, in order to combat jet lag, we hit the ground running! Everyone ventured out to Piazza del Popolo to explore, eat, shop and of course, try the incredible gelato (it was life changing!).

We are so excited to for tomorrow! Because of our large group, the tour is split up into two sections- Varsity White and Varsity Blue. Tomorrow, Varsity Blue will head out on a walking tour where they will see sights like the Spanish Steps, the Trevi Fountain and the Pantheon. Varsity Blue will spend the day touring the Vatican.
