Let’s give a big cheer for a new school year!

Summertime is coming to a close and the first day of school is quickly approaching! While your team is preparing for pep rallies and game day, we want to prepare you to have the strongest school year ever both on the sidelines and in the classroom. Here are 10 back to school tips from the #NCAstaff to help you have the best year yet!

Be Yourself
  • Don’t let others opinions hold you back from trying new things! You never know if the risk you take will end up being your new passion. @nca_payton
  • Live in the moment and appreciate each day, no matter how easy or difficult it may seem. These days fly by and someday you’ll be wishing to go back! So enjoy it while you have it! @nca_alysia
  • No matter what, be yourself and do what makes you happy. Open yourself up to new things, new opportunities and new adventures. @nca_dumo
  • Say yes to new opportunities! You are the only YOU in the world, be yourself always. Be open to everything around you, you might learn something new! @nca.valerie
Get Involved
  • Say hi to everyone you see! Whether you know them or not, apply the 5 feet apart rule. If you come in contact with someone that’s 5 feet away or closer… ALWAYS SAY HI! You never know how much it can change someone’s day. @nca_sarah
  • Take as many classes and join as many clubs as you can. You might find a class you love in school or connections in extra curricular activities that will lead you to your career one day! @nca_raegan
  • Be a better version of yourself from the year before and don’t be afraid of change. Meet new friends no matter what grade you are in and study more to improve your grades as you start thinking about college. Get involved! You only have one high school experience – make it count! @ncaronnie
Encourage Others
  • Encourage your teammates to work hard in school! If you have time in-between school and practice, get all your teammates to work on homework in the cafeteria! Put on some chill music and help each other work through projects and papers together. @nca_lindsey
  • Practices, games and schoolwork can get overwhelming at times, but don’t be afraid to ask for help. In the classroom or in life! @nca_marley
  • Remember to show appreciation to others! Bring popsicles to the cross-country race, or nominate some spirited teachers to cheer with you during third quarter. Little acts of kindness early on will bring your student body closer and set the tone of positivity for the rest of the year. @nca_rachel
