#VarsityLondon Day 6: Parade Day!

Farewell, London – you were a trip to remember!

For the 31st year in a row, the Varsity All-Americans woke up on New Years Day ready to march in the parade of a lifetime! These participants got all dolled up and dressed in their red, white and blue uniforms to proudly represent America in the London event of the year.

Four groups of All-Americans paraded down the streets, as the people of London gathered alongside the parade route ready to watch their show stopping performances! Children looked up in awe as these cheerleaders danced to high-energy songs like Don’t Stop Me Now by the one and only British rock band Queen.

The 2-mile parade route, was lined with some of the most historical London monuments including Westminster Abbey. The All-Americans were well acquainted with this route after exploring this part of the city earlier in the week.

Cheerleaders engaged with fans along the parade route, handing out high-fives and exchanging “Happy New Years” with spectators that came from across the globe to watch the parade. All-Americans along with the Varsity Staff even put together some stunt routines to really wow the crowd during their performances. Parents could watch their child perform from the Grandstands where they had their phones and cameras out, proudly documenting this amazing opportunity.

Thanks again for following along with all of our #VarsityLondon adventures this past week. Congratulations to the All-Americans who made the trip across the pond to put on a great show for the city of London and represent what it truly means to be a cheerleader.

Cheers to an even more amazing 2020 – see you next year!
