Why should YOU attend the Varsity Dance National Coaches Conference?

By Valerie Stead Potsos – Head Coach University of Michigan Dance Team

As coaches, we are always busy taking care of everyone else.  We order costumes, report to administration and communicate with parents.  We often forget that the most important investment…  YOU!  The most valuable thing you can do to help your team is to invest in yourself!

That is why you need to take time this Spring to attend the Varsity Dance National Coaches Conference in St. Charles, Missouri from April 11th-13th to collaborate and share ideas with other coaches.  You will also learn from experts in the dance industry. Have you struggled with perfecting aerials with your students?  Or do you need some mental motivation to help them push through practices and competitions?  As you reflect on your team and how they function, this conference will also give you an opportunity to analyze your coaching style.  How does your coaching style influence your team?  What things can you do to study your team and apply new techniques in coaching?

You will also meet other coaches for effective networking sessions.  Connect with industry leaders and experts in their field of dance.  Develop relationships for advice throughout the year.
Varsity University’s Dance Conferences provide coaches the one-of-a-kind opportunity to learn from the very best in the business. Our instructors specialize in everything from choreography and technique to team-building and have lead some of the most successful dance programs in history. For our scholastic cheer and dance conferences, participants can earn professional development hours through Sterling College.
