The Inaugural DI National School Band Championship

The spotlight is set for the inaugural DI National School Band Championship, happening February 6–8 in Orlando, Florida. Bands nationwide will showcase their game day traditions in a national competition unlike any other. Here’s what to know as the action begins:

2026 DI UCA National School Band Championship Teams:

Pep Band Divison:

Showcasing their game day performances on the field, these teams deliver a dynamic blend of school pride and tradition. Take a look at who will be competing:

• Los Alamitos High School
• Independence High School 
• Thompson High School
• Lake Creek High School

Independence High School enters the season as the reigning 2025 champions, but with an expanded field in the division, the competition is tougher than ever. All eyes will be on whether they can hold the top spot once again. Catch these teams LIVE in the Athletic Center on February 7th from 5:00–5:21 PM as they take the floor.

Spirit Program Game Day Live:

This unique format brings every part of a school’s spirit squads together. By incorporating the band into their performance, teams create an unforgettable, full game day atmosphere. Here are the schools ready to unite at this year’s championship:

• Old Bridge High School 
• Los Alamitos High School
• Lake Creek High School 
• Thompson High School

• Independence High School
