Terre Haute Cheer Continues 11-Year Tradition With The U.S. Finals

Terre Haute Cheer University, also known as Cheer U is getting set to wrap up their 22nd season as a program with The U.S. Finals Virtual Championship right here on Varsity TV. 

The Indiana gym is made up of six all star elite teams and two Prep teams, all of which are taking part in this exciting virtual event.

“We have participated in EVERY U.S. Finals since it first started in 2008-2009! We have competed in Indianapolis, Cincinnati, Chicago, Louisville, and Kansas City for the past 11 years. We have loved the concept of what The U.S. Finals represents for all of our teams and love finishing our season at this event. In our gym on the entire back wall we have 28 Overall Grand Champion banners from 2009-2019, 28 of our teams have won rings.” Terre Haute Coach, Kim Keyes

Pirate Crew – Junior Medium Level 2

Ghostbusters – Junior Medium Level 3

American Ninja Warriors – Senior Medium Level 4.2

Dino Herd – Senior Small Level 4

Fortune Cookies – Youth Medium Prep Level 1.1

Spice Girls – Youth Small Prep Level 2.2

Fun Fact: Terre Haute Cheer University renames their teams every year to match their entertaining themed routines!

While their season didn’t end how they originally planned, Terre Haute Cheer University was having one of their most successful seasons to date.

This season, Killer Beez, Big Mac's, Dino Herd, and Fortune Cookies all went undefeated at their competitions. 

Terre Haute Cheer University was awarded program champion at JAMfest Cheer Super Nationals, COA Midwest Nationals, and the GLCC Showdown. 

For the first time in program history, the D2 gym brought their Senior teams to CHEERSPORT Nationals in Atlanta, Georgia and they all finished in first. 

“Every single year is special at Cheer U because the girls make it that way! We love our Cheer U Family and each year's memories are created by the experiences we share together. We are sad the season was cut short, but we are so appreciative of this opportunity for one last moment together.”
