Strong Showing From Fire & Ice At Reach The Beach

Fire & Ice Allstars brought 13 teams to Ocean City, Maryland this past weekend to compete at Reach The Beach Nationals 2019 and the northeast program ended their season with multiple zero deduction routines.

Fire & Ice was no stranger to Reach The Beach and their experience showed through in their performances. In the past, Fire & Ice has collected multiple championship titles at the event across all levels including earning highest score of the event from their Small Senior 5 team, 5 Alarm. The program has also claimed multiple bids to The Cheerleading Worlds at the event.

This weekend, Fire & Ice Hail took home the championship title in the L5 Senior Medium Coed division.

While Fire & Ice continues to capture bids at Reach The Beach, the program decided going into the event to take their focus in a different direction as they prepared their routines. 

“We have decided to ‘go back to our roots’ this season,” explained Coach Kathy Gym. “Cheerleading has been more about making it to the end of the season events that we have forgotten why we love this sport so much, so we decided to bring back the ‘fun’ back into our gym while training hard!”

The shift in focus paid off because the majority of the teams from Fire & Ice placed in the top 5 in their division and hit zero deduction routines!

“We love every single kid like they are our own.  We not only know about our athletes, but we get to know their entire family.  We pride ourselves on being a “family” and we do everything to make everyone who walks in our door feel a part of it!”
