Watch LIVE - UCA & UDA College Cheerleading & Dance National Championship!
The 2016 UCA National Champions, Morehead State University, are starting off the season with a group that’s ready to get back into the swing of things, and it looks like another title may be in the making.

Both Division I teams, all girl and large coed, are looking to defend their titles with a large group of rookies; 37, to be exact. But the team is in good hands with veteran coaches and standout leaders who know what it takes to bring home the gold.

Watch them compete LIVE on Varsity TV for another national championship title at the 2017 UCA & UDA College Cheerleading & Dance Team National Championship on January 14-15!

Mark Coleman, head cheer coach, reflected on the past season:

We swept all of the divisions in which we competed at UCA College Nationals, and Morehead all girl had the highest score of any team at UCA. For the first time in several years, both teams were crowned as national champions and it was the best feeling to know that both teams fulfilled their ultimate goals. It was especially sweet for coed who had come up short the past few years…

After such a successful season, it’s going to take a lot of preparation and practice to defend the titles they earned in 2016. Can they do it? Coleman believes both teams have strengths that will shine during performance time.

I expect both Morehead teams to be amazing this year. I expect MSU all girl to be one of the best tumbling teams in the country, and we will once again be pushing the limit on stunt difficulty. Morehead coed will be strong across the board, but I expect big things from their stunts and pyramids this year.

Only time will tell, and we’ve got our eye on the Eagles. Stay connected with the teams on Twitter @MSUEaglesCheer.
