OSU Cheerleader Shows Why #SpiritMatters

No matter what we do as cheerleaders, eyes are on us. From judges to coaches to little girls in the stands — someone is always watching you. You become a silent role model to little girls everywhwere.

Oklahoma State cheerleader Brya D’Abrosca became just that as she proved why #SpiritMatters this past weekend after an away football game in Pittsburgh.

Sadie and Jonathan Domingues are dedicted Cowboys fans living in South Carolina. With OSU playing their first few opening games along the East Coast, the family decided to take a road trip to watch the game.

After Oklahoma State’s big win against South Alabama, the Domingues family was walking back to their car when they saw the OSU cheerleading squad loading their bus.

OSU senior Brya D’Abrosca noticed Sadie and Jonathan’s little daughter, Amber Nora, dressed in a mini OSU cheer uniform and went out of her way to come say hello and talk with the little girl. With big smiles on little Amber Nora’s face, the two put their pistols up for a picture before going their separate ways.

Just one week later, the Cowboys made their way back to the East Coast to take on Pittsburgh. The Domingues family made the journey once more to watch their favorite team play.

The family was in one of the front rows of the stadium preparing to sing “Proud and Immortal,” OSU’s alma mater, when Brya recognized Amber Nora. Brya grabbed some teammates to put Amber Nora up in a stunt and continued to interact and make her little friend’s day throughout the entire game.

“It’s times like those that make me never want to stop cheering at OSU,” said OSU’s Brya D’Abrosca after seeing the pictures of her with Amber Nora after the games.

Thank you Brya D’Abrosca for showing why #SpiritMatters!

The Little Eyes Upon You

There are little eyes upon you and they’re watching night and day,
There are little ears that quickly take in every word you say.
There are little hands all eager to do anything you do,
and a little girl who’s dreaming of the day she’ll be like you.
You’re the little girl’s idol,
You’re the wisest of the wise.
In her little mind about you no suspicions ever rise.
She believes in you devoutly,
Holds that all you say and do,
she will say and do in your way
when she’s a grown-up just like you.
There’s a wide-eyed little girl who believes you’re always right.
And her ears are always open, and she watches day and night!
You are setting an example everyday in all you do,
For the little girl who’s waiting to grow up to be like you.
