Memphis Pride Storms In To UCA All Star

Memphis Pride is here in Orlando, Florida, and fired up to take the mat at the 2018 UCA International All Star Cheerleading Championship.

The Tennessee program has three UCA championship titles in their trophy case and they're hoping to take some more hardware home with them this weekend. Five teams from the program will be competing at the championship this weekend: Thunder, Quakes, Cyclones, Inferno, and Lightning.

UCA is one of Memphis Pride’s favorite events of the season.

“We love UCA! For our teams, it’s our big nationals,” Memphis Pride coach Justin Morries said. “We have so many school teams in our area that come to UCA High School Nationals and win so it’s everyone’s goal to win a black jacket to go along with their white jackets!”

This season, you can expect fast-paced routines from Memphis Pride with a major focus on being clean and entertaining.

“Each transition is non-stop and majority of athletes have choreography the whole time,” Morries said. “There’s always something going on!”

The gym's first ever Junior 2 team took the mat this morning and started the day of strong with an exciting hit-zero routine!

For this first time ever, Memphis Pride will have multiple teams competing at The Summit! The program will be represented at The Dance Worlds and is hoping to earn a bid to compete at The Cheerleading Worlds as well.
