Inside Look: Trails End Elite Camp!

Teams from near and far packed up their sleeping bags and bug spray and traveled to the woods to attend UCA camp at Trails End, Pennsylvania! Cheerleading camp at Trails End is filled with tradition and true “camping.” While there, teams stay together in cabins to get a full bonding experience!

This session is known as Trails End Elite. Top nationally ranked teams — such as Hunterdon Central, St. Hubert, Springfield, St. Joseph by the Sea and many more, — attended this elite camp! The teams that traveled the farthest was Minnetonka High School. Every year, the Minnetonka cheer team flies to Trails End all the way from Minnesota!

Teams left camp with new skills and, more importantly, new memories! Stunt class consisted of spins, spins, and more spins! From high-to-highs to double ups, teams celebrated left and right as they achieved new skills! One of this year’s favorite new stunts was the “Georgia Peach.” This skill starts in an extension, drops to a controlled straddled lower than a hang drill position, and then drives back up while fulling up to the top!

On final day of camp, teams showed off what they learned in their game day and extreme routine evaluations. Before the end of a great camp, Trails End campground owner Jerry Preschutti closed the camp with an inspirational quote. He encouraged the campers to have a vision verses a goal.

“A vision has no limits,” he said. “When you set a goal, you limit yourself. But when you have a vision, you can go as far as you want!”

In true UCA camp fashion, the camp ended by awarding the top banana! Minnetonka High School was ecstatic to be announced as the recipients this year!
