The Crimson Heat Tigers’ journey to winning The Summit 2017 championship began earlier than most. Before capturing the Level 1 Large Junior Division title, they were simply excited to earn a bid last June at JAMfest Europe 2016 in Liverpool, England.

As the talented team prepared to head to Orlando, FL, earlier this month, coach Gareth Green said that they would make the trip on the understanding that the Tigers were going to win. From there on out, they focused on nothing but training to reach this big goal.

Coach Megan Dancer strategically researched the entire 2016 Level 1 Summit competitors. After seeing what teams did last year, she pushed Crimson Heat to have a difficulty level set higher than what was performed last year. Dancer told us that she set the stunt difficulty to be at least one full point ahead of all of the other skills that she had seen.

After sweeping the competition all season in the U.K., they traveled to Orlando in hopes of continuing that success. The team was filled with excitement as it entered the ESPN World Wide of Sports to compete in prelims.

Hitting a zero deduction routine in Prelims!

The Tigers hit an impressive zero-deduction routine, which scored them high enough to advance through to finals! They didn’t settle from there. Crimson Heat came out even stronger in finals and nailed the highest scoring routine in the Level 1 Large Junior Division. They ended their magical weekend by being crowned the 2017 Summit champions!
