Belle Chasse came to NCA High School Nationals ready to show Dallas that New Orleans was in the house tonight. The team walked off the mat after their Game Day Timeout Dance performance, feeling accomplished and proud that they gave it their all today in all three of the Game Day divisions they competed in. Their hard work paid off as they were crowned Large High School Game Day National Champions!

Not only did Belle Chasse achiee their team goal of out doing what they did last year, but they also had the crowd going CRAZY throughout their entire Timeout Dance routine.

Belle Chasse has a reputation for bringing some of the most innovative game day choreography to NCA High School Nationals each year and they strive to set themselves apart from other teams in their division by bringing New Orleans vibes to their routine. Coach, Milicent Roussell, told us more about how they incorporated these moves into their choreography.

We have our own style of dance in New Orleans. We always try to keep it fresh. We have unique music that we use in our routine called Bounce. Believe it or not, twerking was started in New Orleans. We have been doing it for years and now see other teams doing it as well.

In addition to their cajun culture flare, you can always expect to see a crazy trick in their Timeout Dance. This year, they performed a fun drop (watch at 0:50) that shocked the crowd and set them apart from every other team.
