I love working for NCA because it allows me to not only do what I love, but do it with the people that I love. I am able to continue my passion for cheerleading, and use it to help young athletes find theirs. I believe that cheerleading was a major factor and contributor to making me who I am today and providing me with essential life lessons, characteristics, and skills. As a member of NCA Staff, I am able to give all of this back to young athletes through the same industry that positively shaped me. Because of cheerleading, I had so many people supporting me and helping point me in the right direction throughout my life and it is so amazing to be able to do the same for today's cheerleaders. Working for NCA is also so amazing because the opportunities to life build skills, both personally and professionally, engage with coaches, and make lifetime relationships and memories is extremely rewarding. Why do you love working for NCA?
NCA to me models what the real would should be like; integrity, hard work, being driven by your purpose, choosing kindness, relating to others, encouraging each other, having mutual goals, growing yourself by helping others, living every day to it's fullest. When I'm working an NCA Camp I am reminded what I felt as a young junior high and high school student - I know what it's like to go through that time, I share in that young passion for the sport of cheerleading, I feel in love with the positive environment - now I want to create this for others. As a high school coach I know how challenging it can be. To be an encouragement to the coaches I get to work with is amazing. When we are together I may be leading coaches sessions but in turn I am growing myself and gaining fresh ideas. The network I have is incredibly positive. Our coaches that attend NCA in the PNW are knowledgeable, passionate, dedicated to their kids, and want to see them do their very best. We won't always remember the 8-counts or the specific cheers but we will remember how we felt and were treated - I work with the best coaches! Over times have changed since I was once a camper a quarter of a century ago, but NCA's values, beliefs, kindness, respect, positivity still blossoms bigger and brighter every year. Every opportunity to wear this uniform is an honor I hold near and dear to my heart. NCA has taught me so much I use to this day in my classroom, in the community, and in my life. The work is worth it. When you're with this incredible company for so many years I can honestly say my best friends are a direct result of the Shield that unites us.

Outside of NCA:
Outside of NCA I am an American Sign Language interpreter and teacher. I teach ASL and coach cheer at Bothell High School. Nights and weekends I freelance interpret in the community. The ability to learn and grow in the community and come back to the classroom and teach my students is like no other! I love cycling, hiking, and being active. I enjoy the travel I get to do for NCA - give me a window seat and a view above the clouds and I'm happy! NCA and Varsity have allowed me to see the world and love every moment I get to experience it all while being with our athletes. In my free time during the year I also work for NCA and Varsity as a whole announcing - more teamwork, more purpose, more fun waiting to be had! I am blessed to have my family nearby so weekend family dinners and time with my niece and nephews will forever bring me joy. I interpret a lot of shows; plays, musicals, so I spend a lot of prep time with my teammates and Deaf sign coaches preparing for our big day.

I feel so blessed to be able to interact with all the campers and let them know that they are so loved and special!

Outside of NCA:
I am in a graduate program studying Speech-Language Pathology and am pursuing a career in speech therapy. I love taking naps with my dog Benson, watching Big Brother, volunteering for the youth program at my church, going to the beach, shopping and hanging out with friends and family.
