Championship Experience Updates

Please know that together, with the Walt Disney World Resort, we’ve made many updates to the championship experience based on the guidance from health authorities, such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and appropriate government agencies. Before you register, it is imperative that you read everything carefully and make sure you share this information with your athletes and parents. Please know that this is a fluid situation and subject to change. Click here to read the  Championship Experience Updates.

At UCA, the health and safety of our athletes, coaches, employees, families and friends remains our top priority. We are diligently monitoring official information from health authorities and local governments as well as working with our contacts at the Walt Disney World Resort daily on what the championship will be like this year. Below are several of the experience updates you can expect to see. (Please note this is a fluid situation and subject to change.)

  • Physical distancing protocols will be in place and enforced.
  • Increased sanitization measures throughout venues, including enhanced cleaning protocols, hand sanitization stations and more frequent cleaning of performance surfaces.
  • Face coverings will be required for everyone, except for athletes when on the practice and performance floors. Adults and children two and older will be required to wear masks.
  • All attendees (including coaches, athletes, spectators, and Varsity Spirit staff) will be asked to monitor their own health prior to attending an event and follow the CDC guidelines for protecting themselves and others. We strongly suggest you get tested for COVID-19 prior to traveling to Florida.
  • Experiences will be modified in order to reduce contact whenever possible. This will include check-in, orientation, transportation, modified housekeeping at the resorts, cashless transactions whenever possible, etc.
  • All participants, coaches and spectators will be required to undergo a temperature screening with no-touch thermometers before entering the venues at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex.
  • Spectators viewing may be limited to team performance times only. Awards may have limited spectators, coaches and athletes or be completely virtual.
  • The Walt Disney World Resort is operating at a limited capacity and theme park reservations will be required. To enter a park, both a park reservation and valid admission for the same park on the same day are required. Stay tuned for more information on how you can receive your Park Ticket Numbers in advanced in order to book your park reservations early.

Spectator Viewing at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex

  • Disney has limited space in the venue to 200 spectators per team performance, but we do not anticipate teams to come close to this capacity.
    • For example, a team of 25 could bring 8 spectators per athlete. This is much higher than the average number of spectators per athlete
    • Disney is NOT limiting the WWOS Complex capacity, just the number of individuals allowed into the venues for each team.
  • If you purchase the Hotel Travel Package or the discounted Disney Park Hopper Tickets, during registration you will select the teams you are associated with and automatically be counted in the 200-spectator count.
  • Any remaining tickets – up to 200 spectators – will be sold as ESPN Wide World of Sports single day tickets.
  • Single day tickets will go on sale 1-2 weeks prior to the championship.
    • Tickets for day two (or day three) of the competition will go on sale during day one of the competition so you are able to purchase tickets for the next day if/when your team advances to the next round of the competition.
  • Again, we do NOT foresee the spectator capacity limit being an issue for parents to enter, but if for any reason there are more than 200 spectators for a team performance, it will be up to the coach with help from their Safety Champion to prioritize parents and immediate family members first.

Walt Disney World Park Reservations

To help manage park capacity, the Walt Disney World Resort has introduced the Disney Park Pass service, a new Theme Park reservation system. In order to make your Theme Park reservations, you will need a My Disney Experiences account and valid Theme Park admission linked to it.  Once you are paid in full, approximately 7-10 business days later, Varsity Spirit will send you a ticket confirmation order number. Then, simply create a My Disney Experience account and select the dates and Theme Parks you wish to visit. To enter a Theme Park, both a reservation and valid admission for the same Park on the same date are required. Please note that reservations are limited in capacity, subject to availability and are not guaranteed until confirmed. If the first park you would like to attend reaches capacity, you can make a reservation for another park and then “hop” to your top choice after 2PM that day.

Park Reservation How-To Resources:

Please note: There is a 25 person/ticket maximum on managing/linking per unique My Disney Experience account. And in the PDFs above, MDX is an abbreviation for My Disney Experience.

ESPN Only Tickets

The ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex single day tickets are now available for purchase.  If you have any parents who would like to purchase this single day ticket, click the link below to request your ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex tickets. You will also need to provide the team’s Customer Number.  Coaches, your customer number is located on the top right hand corner of your invoice (CUST#).

Within an hour of your request being submitted, you will be emailed a one time code and link for each ticket and day that you want to purchase.  Once you click on the link to purchase, you will be asked to sign a digital release waiver.  Please read carefully to ensure that you are purchasing the correct day for the competition that you need.  There are no refunds after purchase. No exceptions.  Each day is $25 per person.

If you are making reservations for more than 1 ticket here are things you must know before you order:

– You must have a code for every ticket you would like to purchase.
– Order one ticket at a time and then wait until you receive a confirmation before you start the next one.
– When you start your second order, make sure there is nothing still in your “cart”, it takes a few minutes to clear out. Clear your browsing data (cache/cookies) after you have made your first purchase.
– If you go too fast it will cause an error. If purchasing a ticket for Day 2, use a different browser to access that site.

If a Guest does not receive a confirmation:

  • Confirmation comes from: noreply@disneyparks.com (maybe in your junk/spam filter)
  • Confirmation will include a PDF of their ticket to be presented at the Sports Complex

We know this is a new process for everyone and we appreciate your patience and understanding as we work though these new technical updates.
