DRUM MAJOR CAMPS!

NEW Emphasis on Field Show Performance & Competition

  • In 2022, our team has revised our daily camp schedules to incorporate more dedicated time for conducting and field show. Students will have the opportunity to continue working alongside instructors on skills and knowledge essential to a successful field show performance and competition. Topics will include score study and interpretation, dynamics, time signatures, rehearsal strategies, and more!

NEW Redesigned “Masters” Drum Major Program

  • The USA Drum Major’s Master Program is designed for incoming Seniors to truly test their skills and capabilities in areas, such as parade performance and competition, conducting performance and competition, and leadership. Participants will learn from one of USA’s “Master Instructors” who is not only a member of our curriculum development team, but who is a certified adjudicator within several circuits including NCBA, SCSBOA, and Peacocks American Drum Major Competitions. Participants can also expect to undergo rigorous and consistent performance reviews at camp which provide direct feedback, an opportunity for a full topical analysis, and 1:1 coaching with our certified USA instructional staff.

NEW Specialty Leadership Workshops

  • Specialty Leadership Workshops are an invaluable learning opportunity for students where each student will get to select a session(s) (more than one session offered at a traditional 4-Day overnight camp) which focuses on a specific leadership topic, such as fundraising, recruitment & retention, solo competitions, or leading band camp. Each workshop is led by a USA certified instructor who is exceptionally experienced in the topic, and can provide students with resources, tools, and other materials to enhance their leadership journey.

NEW Specialty Technical Skills Workshops

  • Specialty technical workshops are offered at each camp to provide students additional learning opportunities for technical skills, such as those pertaining to parade or conducting. Within each workshop offered, students will focus on topics of their choosing and work 1:1 with a USA certified instructor to explore the topic more in-depth as well as to provide them more hands-on experience. Topics include toss technique (parade), showmanship (parade & conducting), musical integration (parade & conducting), and more!
