WHAT’S NEW IN 2021

2021 Summer Camp

School colors have the power to unify a team, student body and even an entire community. They are a symbol of tradition and comradery that transcend generations. From the field to the sidelines and into the stands… those colors are worn with pride! Spirit leaders, dancers, band members, students, teachers, athletes, alumni and fans – all UNITED by their school and school colors.

SPIRIT (CHEER, SONG/POM, MASCOT & PEP FLAG) WHAT’S NEW IN 2021:

• The USA UNITY symbol (which resembles a gold coin) has been added to our camp schedules to highlight which classes are a part of the USA Unity curriculum where cheerleaders, songleaders, mascots and pep flags team will come together.​
• Dynamic 4 corner warm-up has been added to day 1 after opening ceremonies.​
• Teams will now have the option of participating in Fight Song Evaluation or a Home Routine Showcase on night 1 of camp.​
• Additional Staff TeamMate Time has been added to all schedules for teams to prep for evaluations/final day competitions and form stronger bonds with the USA staff.​
• Introducing Choose Your Challenge where team’s will get to select a class or “challenge” from a variety of options like a Sideline class, Time-out class, Halftime class or Skills class.
• A Senior Spotlight ceremony has been added to day 4 to congratulate seniors at camp. ​
• Captain’s meeting have been revamped to focus on the 5 roles of a Spiritleader where captain’s will “champion” the NFHS squad credentialing process on behalf of their team.​
• S.M.A.R.T. Coaches goal setting has been added to the USA Day-By-Day handbook where coaches will set attainable goals for camp with their Staff TeamMate.​
• To “tie” into our camp theme, “Let Your Colors Shine”, teams are encouraged to wear tie dye and unify at our 2021 USA Spirit Rally, themed “Peace Love & USA”!

DANCE WHAT’S NEW IN 2021:

• Specialized Workshops​.  This is a unique and exciting opportunity for dancers to enhance their training in a focused area of Dance. Workshop options will include Exploring Improv, Auditioning for a College Dance Team, Game Day and more!
• Leadership Training/Goal Setting.  We will be adding daily check in opportunities for Officers/Captains to set goals and work on specific tasks to help build stronger connections and learn more about their team members.
• TeamMaker.  The focus of TeamMaker is to create genuine connections between team members and increase unity across dancers. TeamMaker will now be included more frequently throughout the camp schedule.

BAND WHAT’S NEW IN 2021:

• A stronger emphasis on Field Show performance & competition where students will have opportunities to learn DCI-style conducting patterns and performance basics
• Redesigned “Masters” Drum Major program that will provide students with more advanced hands-on experience in both parade and field show performance & competition
• Specialty Leadership Workshops that focuses on the importance of Game Day from a Band Perspective
• Specialty Technical Skills Workshops that focus on specific skills and techniques to make students more successful in competition
