FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How many Coaches/Advisors/Chaperones will receive complimentary admission?

Each School will receive one (1) complimentary coach/advisor/chaperone ticket for every 10 students that attend the event.

What if I have more coaches/advisors/chaperones attending the event then the one (1) per 10 complimentary ticket ratio?

We need to be firm in sticking with the one (1) per 10 complimentary coach/advisor/chaperone ticket ratio. Any adults attending above the one (1) per 10 complimentary ratio would need to purchase a ticket as they would for a regular UCLA football game.  If additional people wish to attend, they must purchase their tickets as they would for a regular UCLA football game.  To sit in the same “general admission” area as the performers, purchase tickets online at uclabruins.com, call (310) UCLA-WIN or on game day at Gate B and ask for General Admission, South End ZoneA general admission cost for adults is $30.00.  Children’s General Admission tickets cannot be purchased in advance, only the day of the game. Reserved seating is also available at Gate B, but these seats are not located in the same section as the performer seating.

I now have more/less participants attending than what I originally signed up.  What should I do?

Please contact Kim Foster at kfoster@varsity.com immediately if your team numbers change.  Any changes to your original registered numbers must be submitted in writing to the USA office by September 5.  Please note these changes are needed by this time in order to allow us time to finalize all field charts, formations, and ticketing.  There will be no additions allowed after August 30 and on the day of the event.

Please note there are no refunds for cancellations after August 30.

Can I send in the Participant Release and Waiver Form prior to the event?

Please turn in both the USA and UCLA Participant Release and Waiver forms at registration at the event.  Please note that all participants must have an original, complete release form or they cannot participant.  These forms must be completed by a parent or legal guardian.

Will the participants have time to eat during the rehearsal?

Usually there is no time to eat during the rehearsal.  There will be a short break between the rehearsal and the time we enter the Rose Bowl.  You can bring snacks to rehearsal and concessions stands will be open during the game.  USA will provide water during the rehearsal.

What should be worn to rehearsal?

Participants need to be performance ready. Ideally we would like performers to arrive in their dress uniforms, but if this cannot happen there will be limited time to change before entering the Rose Bowl.

Should we bring any equipment to the event?

Drum Majors should bring their equipment, Pep Flag squads should bring their flags, and Mascots should bring their costumes.  We would like ALL spirit participants to bring pom pons for performance enhancement.  No specific color is required.  Bring extras if possible.  Pom pons are NOT a requirement attend this rally.

What else should I bring?  Water? Sunscreen?

Bring sunscreen as we will be outside for the entire day.  USA will provide water but you can bring a water bottle to refill.  Water bottles must be sealed and no larger than 16.9 oz.  Cans, glass bottles, thermoses, and coolers are NOT permitted in the stadium.

The Rose Bowl has Clear Bag Policy that limits the size and type of bags that may be brought into the stadium.  USA will provide to all participants a commemorative clear bag that meets the requirements of the new policy.  We suggest that participants bring any items they want to bring into the stadium in a disposable bag so that they can easily transfer their items to the commemorative bag prior to the game.  There might not be enough time between rehearsal and the game to go back to a vehicle to leave items behind.

What is the cost of parking?

The cost of parking is not included in the registration fee.  The cost for cars to park is $25.00 in advance, or $30.00 on gameday, there is no charge for buses.  Park in lots nearest to the baseball field in Lot I (eye), on the south side of the stadium.  Lots I (eye), H and F are the closest.  Please note that the parking lots will open at 7:15 am.
