Bringing spirit to you, wherever you are.
USA’s Cheerleading Virtual Now & Later Camps are a new camp type that allows us to safely bring spirit to you, wherever you are. Start your season now with a Virtual Camp taught by our top USA Cheer Instructors and schedule an in-person time later where your team can work with the USA Staff on stunts/pyramids, private coaching and building blocks you began during your virtual camp.
The COVID-19 pandemic has had a tremendous impact on our world, including a direct effect on how Cheer programs form their teams, practice and train at summer camp. These camp types have been created to provide an opportunity for teams in locations who are unable to gather and attend their summer camp in-person as planned. Although this summer might look a little different, we want to assure you that we are prepared to deliver instruction that will meet your state and local guidelines while, providing the same world-class experience you have come to expect from USA.
Three days prior to your camp start date, you will receive an email from us with an invite that unlocks your personal Zoom meeting. As the coach, you will simply forward the invite along to all of your athletes and make sure they know what time camp starts. Everyone can log in from their homes, meet the instructors and learn, bond and grow together even though they are apart.
As the partner in building strong school spirit programs, the squad credentialing program has been developed in conjunction with the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS). Our history with the NFHS has spanned more than twenty years, and we share the same core values. The Varsity Spirit/NFHS Squad Credentialing program is taught at our camps every summer and focuses on the importance of safety, leadership, and the five key pillars to a successful spirit program.
It was developed to ensure that athletes and coaches understand both the role of a spiritleader and the importance of safety. The program was created in collaboration with the National Federation and is comparable to some of their existing courses. Because this is so important to us, this program is implemented at all Varsity Spirit camps and is a requirement for participation in all cheer divisions at USA Spirit Nationals beginning in 2021.
We believe this program will help elevate the profile of spiritleaders, whether they are on campus, representing their school in their community or at competition. It will also certify that spiritleaders have a true understanding of their role while also being knowledgeable in spirit safety.
Teams will participate in various classes at camp that will pertain to one or more of the Five Roles of a Spiritleader. As teams complete classes, their captain(s) will have the Head Instructor initial over the role that the class pertains to on their Squad Credentialing card. Teams must participate in at least one class that pertains to each role and receive 6 initials from the Head Instructor. An official credentialing certificate will be presented to teams that successfully complete their Squad Credentialing card by the final day of camp.
Crowd Leader
As CROWDLEADERS, spiritleaders elevate the game day experience by leading the crowd in cheers and chants intended to encourage the players and generate excitement.
Spirit Raiser
As SPIRIT RAISERS, spiritleaders are responsible for promoting school spirit and boosting overall morale.
Ambassador
Spiritleaders are recognizable AMBASSADORS of their school in the classroom, on campus and in their community.
Athlete
Like any other ATHLETE, spiritleaders train tirelessly to be in the physical shape required to safely execute their skillset.
Entertainer
Spiritleaders are ENTERTAINERS anytime they perform exciting and engaging routines for an audience.
