TOUR ITINERARY
This is event is open to participants in the FOURTH GRADE AND OLDER!
Tuesday
November 22:
Arrive in Houston, Texas, from your hometown by car or plane. You must arrive in Houston
between 12:00 noon and 5:00 p.m. A festive Mexican dinner is planned for the evening. After
dinner, a parade REHEARSAL and spectator orientation meeting is planned. Travel arrange-
ments to and from Houston are not included in the cost of the tour. Please call A&I Travel at
866-719-0379 to arrange your flight to Houston. Airport transfers are not included in the cost
of the tour unless you have purchased your airline tickets from A&I Travel. Upon arrival at the
airport meet Varsity staff who will shuttle you to the JW Marriott hotel. Flight arrangements must
be made through A&I Travel.
Wednesday
November 23:
After a buffet breakfast, the group will travel to Space Center Houston for “an extraordinary
journey into the past, present, and future of NASA’s incredible manned space flight program.”
Enjoy Space Center Plaza, Destiny Theater, and the Space Center Theater. After our NASA visit
we will proceed to Kehma Boardwalk the “overlooking Galveston Texas Bay” for independent
lunch and rides, souvenir shopping, games and much more.
This evening will include a real Texas style BBQ dinner and dance, in Hempstead! A downtown
rehersal may be required. Afterwards return to hotel.
Thursday
November 24:
HAPPY THANKSGIVING! Early morning wake-up and breakfast precedes the transfer to the
parade lineup for participation in the 67th annual HOUSTON THANKSGIVING DAY PARADE.
“A holiday spectacle in the grandest tradition, Houston’s Parade is met with anticipation from
families everywhere. Scores of fabulous floats, larger that life balloons, marching bands, and
performances from some of the best talent around.”
Following the parade, return to the hotel to dress for and enjoy a traditional Thanksgiving Lunch
- complete with salad, turkey and dressing, cranberry sauce, vegetables, and Texas pecan pie!
This evening pasta dinner at hotel and a stroll through The Galleria area which will be a-glitter
with Christmas Carols and music performed by bands and choirs from all over Texas and the
U.S. The lights will be officially turned on in Uptown Houston, culminating in a grand fireworks
display.
Friday
November 25:
Hotel buffet breakfast and checkout are scheduled prior to departures for the airport. DO NOT
schedule any departures prior to 9:00 a.m. and no later than 12:00 p.m.
