Universal Spirit will hold the 2020 Spirit of Hope National Championship on January 18-19, 2020 at the Charlotte Convention Center in Charlotte, NC.

This is a two day National Competition offering your teams an affordable opportunity to compete and win. Come see first hand, the Universal Spirit philosophy of providing innovative and creative competitions that promote a positive experience for everyone involved.The 2020 Spirit of Hope National Championship will take place at the 850,000 square foot Charlotte Convention Center. The Charlotte Convention Center is in the center of Charlotte and within walking distance of 4,100 hotel rooms.

Additional Information:

• Registration Closes – 10/15/19

• Registrations must be paid in full by – 11/1/19  

• Crossovers pay the full competitor fee for every team on which they compete. 

• 2 coaches per team are free. Additional coaches are $75 each. 

• Division Changes after 11/1-15/19, $500/ per change.
The division change deadline is October 31, 2019, division change requests can be made at no cost on or before this date. Any division change requests submitted after that date will be made at the discretion of Universal Spirit. No division change requests will be accepted after November 15, 2019.

• Refund Policy: To receive a full refund, teams must submit a written request to Universal Spirit 45 days or more prior to the event. No refunds will be issued for requests received after that date.

All competitors will receive an official 2020 Spirit of Hope medal. The Champion in each division will receive a National Champion trophy and banner. Additionally, each member of National Champion teams, and two coaches, will receive additional prize(s).


• The Summit Championship:  13 Cheer Bids (3 Paid, 6 At-Large, 4 At-Large IASF)

• D2 Summit Championship:  9 Cheer Bids (3 Paid, 6 At-Large)

• The U.S. Finals:  12 Gold Bids

• USASF Cheer Worlds: 13 Cheer Bids (4 Paid, 9 At-Large)


 A detailed performance schedule will be released directly to our official contact with each team in the days leading up to the competition. Spectators and team members please contact your teams coach to get specific performance times for your team.

2019-2020 Media Policy –  No commercial recording (audio or visual) or commercial live streaming is allowed in the event venue or other event-related venues (including, but not limited to, hotels, and restaurants) or on the grounds of any such venues (collectively, “Event Locations”).  In the event a team authorizes the commercial recording or streaming in any Event Location, the team will be automatically disqualified.  In addition, the personal, non-commercial use of live streaming apps (such as Periscope, FacebookLive, etc.) to capure all or any part of a performance during the event is not permitted.  By attending/purchasing admission to the event, each attendee grants permission to Varsity Spirit, LLC and its affiliates, designees, agents, licensees, and invitees to use the image, likeness, actions and statements of the attendee in any live or recorded ausio, video, film, or photographic desplay or other transmission, exhibition, publication, or reproduction made of, or at, the event in any medium whether now known or hereafter created, or context for any purpose including commercial or promotional purposes without further authorization or compensation.

Varsity All Star will ultimately decide if there is enough evidence available to support the disqualification and will make a final decision on the status of that program / team. In the spirit of protecting our athletes, we hope you understand this year’s no tolerance policy.
