Let\u2019s sing, dance, and cheer as one \u2013 because we\u2019re all in this together!<\/p>\n<h4>What should we bring to camp?<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Signs, poms, megs, flags for game day training<\/li>\n<li>Addresses for St. Jude Letters<\/li>\n<li>Spirit Exchange: As a part of our Team Time message, we are going to be doing a \u201cSpirit Exchange\u201d at every overnight camp. Teams need to bring something that their athletes can give to an athlete from another team during this time. It needs to be something representative of their program\u2019s school colors, team motto, a quality they value, or something encouraging for another cheerleader. The entire team does not have to bring the same thing. Each person can bring their own idea of what the item should be, or you can turn it into a team bonding craft project prior to camp. The staff will be participating as well! In return, each cheerleader will receive an item from another team to take with them as well to remember the gift of spirit forever!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>What is the process for All-American Tryouts?<\/h4>\n<p>Check out everything you need to know about the NCA All-American Process by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.varsity.com\/nca\/school\/camps\/all-american-info\/\">clicking here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h4>What do we do with our St. Jude Letters?<\/h4>\n<p>If your team has already ordered and filled out <a href=\"https:\/\/www.stjude.org\/get-involved\/school-fundraising-ideas\/high-school\/varsity\/summer-camp\/order-fundraising-kit.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">St. Jude Letters<\/a>, bring them to camp! We are committed to offering comprehensive training to cheerleaders and coaches, and feel strongly that this is one more way we can ensure that all cheerleaders understand their role, and are knowledgeable about cheerleading safety. The program was created in collaboration with the National Federation and is comparable to some of their existing courses.\u00a0<span data-olk-copy-source=\"MessageBody\">75% of the team competing at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.varsity.com\/nca\/school\/competitions\/high-school-nationals\/&#091;Event\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NCA High School Nationals<\/a> must complete Varsity Spirit\/NFHS Squad Credentialing. The best way to get credentialed is at a Varsity Spirit Summer Camp.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4>What camps will provide Squad Credentialing?<\/h4>\n<p>All Varsity Spirit overnight camps, resort camps, home camps, that are <strong>at least two days long<\/strong>\u00a0will offer the NFHS Credential. Instruction time must be long enough for all elements of credentialing to be taught. Squad Credentialing at any Varsity Spirit brand camp (NCA, NCA Leadership, NCA Skillz, UCA, USA, and Premier Camps) will meet the requirement for participation at nationals. For instance, a team could go to USA Summer Camp and this would satisfy the NFHS Credential for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.varsity.com\/nca\/school\/competitions\/high-school-nationals\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">NCA High School Nationals<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h4>Who needs the NFHS Credential?<\/h4>\n<p>The Squad Credentialing program applies to all school, youth, club and rec teams that compete at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.varsity.com\/nca\/school\/competitions\/high-school-nationals\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">NCA High School Nationals<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h4>Can a team that didn\u2019t go to a Varsity Spirit camp compete at a local competition?<\/h4>\n<p>Yes, and they would be able to receive a Bid to NCA Nationals, however, the NFHS credential will still need to be met.<\/p>\n<h4>What will the Squad Credentialing program be like at camp?<\/h4>\n<p>Camp attendees will be required to complete a five-part checklist that will cover their role as crowd leaders, spirit raisers, ambassadors, athletes and entertainers, with an emphasis on leadership and safety<\/p>\n<h4>At what point during camp does it happen?<\/h4>\n<p>It will happen throughout camp, in Team Time, Game Day Training, Stunt Class, etc., and be indicated on the schedule.<\/p>\n<h4>How many squad members need to attend camp?<\/h4>\n<p>We require that 75% of the members competing must have completed Squad Credentialing.<\/p>\n<h4>If my mascot competes with our team at Nationals, do they need the credential?<\/h4>\n<p>Yes, mascots fall under the 75% requirement, and are required to have attended Squad Credentialing.<\/p>\n<h4>What is the benefit of being credentialed?<\/h4>\n<p>We believe this program will help us all to elevate the profile of cheerleaders, whether on campus, at a game or representing your school for any occasion.
